welcome

hello family and friends . . .
as most of you know, i'm going to be in central america for 10 weeks this summer, first taking courses in merida, yucatan, mexico, and then doing an archaeology internship in copan ruinas, honduras. i know that it will be hard to keep in touch with everybody while i'm away, so i decided to create this blog for my summer travels (while i should be studying for my last final tomorrow). this way, i can share stories and pictures with everybody at once. i plan on posting photos and notes a few times every week from random internet cafes, and this will act as a kind of travelogue meets letter home. so i hope you'll all check in often and leave comments on my posts, and anything you'd like to share about your own summer. i don't plan on checking facebook, but feel free to email me if you don't want your gossip posted for the whole world to see. i'll start actual posting next week as i'm scrambling to get everything ready. i depart for mexico june 6th and wil return from honduras around august 20th. i'm looking forward to my adventures in central america, and i can't wait to share my "momentos meridionales" (southern moments) with you.
